so sad

If you look closely you will see at least thirty large, brown dogs crammed into these tiny cages; one stacked upon the others. I have never seem pups look so miserable in my life, eyes sad, drool trailing from their mouths, one pressed up against another who is inevitably pressed into another.

I was unable to sharads well enough with the can driver to decipher if these dogs are being sold as pets or as meat. It honestly could go either way here quite easily. Regardless my heart is saddened for these pups.

t-giving

I am oblivious to the timing of my Canadian holidays :( as I don't have the time off here. I miss them. I miss being at home to be apart of them. Miss my family and my friends who are an extension of my family.

One of the Korean friends went to Costco and picked us Canadians up a HUGE pumpkin pie. By god it was delicious!

most exciting ... really?!

The most exciting thing this Monday to Friday grind was: adding chilli paste, mushrooms and fresh garlic to my breakfast eggs. So sad. THIS literally is the highlight of my M-F. Ugh!
My feeling ebb between loathing the school and being ok enough with how the school is. My being is in a constant tug-o-war. It's truly exhausting.

Week One

What a whirl-wind! I have come a LONG way from day one. I am still overwhelmed and feel pressure on a continuous basis and no one really seems to fully know what is going on. CIS is definitely not the school it says it is. For one, it is not Canadian, nor is it an international school; it is just a private Korean school - hence my severe lack of holidays and better pay. For any teachers out there, I would recommend not staying for more than a year (only one teacher has) or don't come at all. It will not be what you were led to believe.

I was hoping to test out the waters of the teaching world of elementary students. I had the thought I may actually be ok/happy to teach elementary back home, and what better place to test run that idea out. On a good day I feel like a drill sergeant with these kids. It's actually awful. I honesty don't see how any learning truly occurs.

I have started to establish the routine though. Working a split shift blows the big one, but I am saving cash money big time that way.

It is unfortunate though that the kids and I are unable to actually have fun and have creative lessons due to the schools structure.

I'm adjusting though. 1 week down, 51 more to go.

poop just got real

I FINALLY have a flight booked. Departure comes at the bright hour of 625 am this Friday.

Let's not have us count our chickens before they hatch though ... I still do not have my visa in hand. It is suppose to arrive Thursday morning before 10 am though. Fingers crossed.

The date and moved so far away with a flight that never seemed to exist. It now seems to be approaching all too quickly. It feels like an impending doom.

I also need to go through my begs for a third time ... ugh packing sucks!

I also feel like not going. But I will. I'm just scared/nervous/anxious and a medley of all other emotion. And speedily running out of time. And needing sleep.
